TRIBE - AFRO-FUNK JAM SESSIONS | MABON DAWUD REPUBLIC ANGOLA SPECIAL! | PONTOON

The TRIBE series is moving outdoors for the summer season, landing on the Danube riverbank at Pontoon Budapest, where each month we’ll showcase some of the finest artists from the local afrobeat scene (and its wider musical orbit).

TRIBE - Budapest’s new communal musical adventure, a recurring night of improvisation where some of the city’s most exciting musicians share the stage, aiming to break down genre boundaries and explore what happens when members of different bands meet in a spontaneous, shared musical world - inspired by the traditions of Afrobeat and global grooves.

On September 2, the rhythm section of Mabon Dawud Republic - an Afrobeat band that rarely performs these days - will be joined by a few guests to play Angolan guitar music, spiced up with one or two songs from Zimbabwe and some of their own.
