GENE ON EARTH

~ Since 2017, Gene On Earth has been consistently developing a dimension of contemporary DJing that has emerged as one of the freshest trends in Berlin’s underground scene in recent years. The California-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer first gained recognition as the founder of the Limousine Dream label, and with his long, unpredictable, and unstoppably sweeping sets, he has toured clubs and festivals from Europe all the way to the home of the pyramids.

While his sound seamlessly blends—and even intertwines—elements of house, tech house, breakbeat, UK garage, trance, and Balearic, Gene On Earth’s sets function more as a continuous journey than a classic "club set." They are at once deep, playful, and groove-focused, full of gems that are usually impossible to Shazam.

He has played in Budapest only once so far, in 2020 at a joint event by mhmm and LÄRM, so this is a particularly rare occasion. The world built around Limousine Dream has expanded in recent years to include Panorama Bar nights and Berlin marathons lasting over 30 hours, and Gene On Earth remains one of those performers where you can never quite predict what the next twist will be—which is exactly why we love him.
